Art Deco convertible chaise armchair

I found this intriguing armchair through Facebook marketplace. I loved it’s ability to convert into various configurations and wanted to give it the overhaul it so desperately needed.

The frame was sound, it was just the upholstery that needed real attention. I decided to use a piece of vintage deep pile velvet that I had kept for years just waiting for the right project. The frame was refinished in a Japan black stain with a clear satin topcoat, a striking and classic look against the beautiful sheen of the blue velvet.
